Margo Robbie is reviving her role as the villainous comic book character Harley Quinn in the upcoming Suicide Squad spin-off Birds of Prey. And the Aussie actress put her skills on display during a dramatic action scene on the streets of Los Angeles Friday.
In all her Harley glory, the 28-year old was spotted running out of a restaurant after an explosion, with a look of fright on her face. In the obvious distress, the actress appeared to be carrying a stuffed-beaver in a tutu as her young co-star, Ella Jay Basco, ran close behind.
Robbie could be seen sporting tattoos and bruises on her legs, along with her heavy face make-up and colored hair for the role. The comic book character is known for her punk-style outfits, which on this night included stripped short-shorts, a tattered Harley Quinn t-shirt and white pointed boots.
Basco plays Cassanda Cain, a young girl threatened by Black mask, in the DC Comics film.
For this particular scene, she was styled in a basic cut-off shorts, a white t-shirt under a red jacket and a baseball cap over her long black hair.
Set after Batman has disappeared from Gotham City, the story focuses on Harley joining forces with Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya to help protect Cassandra after she finds a diamond belonging to crime lord, Black Mask. The film also stars Jumme Smollett-Bell, Mary Elizabeth, Winstead, Rosie Perez, Chris Messina and Ewan McGregor.
Birds of Prey is expected to be the first theatrically released R-rated film in the DC Extended Universe.
It's slated to premiere February 7, 2020.
