LONDON FASHION WEEK : HENRY HOLLAND AW14

 Lets face it, the same woman who shops at Celine, does not shop Henry Holland. The designer has a tendency to present a catwalk display which looks as if two Topshop stylists on acid went on a rampage in Oxford Circus.  I have long since asked what happens to a brand when the designer grows up and the client also grows up. It seems this is only now starting to be questioned in the round ups. Along with- who actually wears this!?

I'm imagining that the woman who actually buys HH is the same woman who wears Meadham Kirchhoff and buys Miu Miu from the safety of the laptop screen while coming down off a massive E trip. I have yet to find a rail of HH in any store in Ireland let alone someone wearing it. However I will say that while Holland has a tendency to overload his catwalk in terms of the styling, he does have a great time with the fashion glossy round ups. His work is tailor made for gracing the pages of Vogue in an 'alternative' shoot which usually involves shooting gap tooth models with madly tied hair and mental attire suitable only for acid dripping raves.

I do like the occasional HH piece but it does need to be stripped back and presented piece by piece. It has been noted that this is a collection in which there are some high street friendly pieces which are prehaps a way of introducing the high street friendly IT girl to the more designer price laden goods? Either way, NEXT! I want less catwalk overload and more catwalk lust.



 I love the tabloid T-shirt though!
