Chris Martin invested in the future of his community by purchasing the Malibu Playhouse theater, according to TMZ.
The 41-year-old Coldplay musician dropped a cool $4.45million for the 99-seat theater which sits atop 6.5 acres of prime real estate in the beach town. The property was listed by Shen Schulz of Sotheby's International Realty and Martin was reportedly represented by Lily Harfouche of Coldwell Banker Malibu West.
Listed as the Malibu Ranch and Theater, the Malibu Stage Company Theater and Cowan Nursery previously owned and operated the property.
The massive area was once used as a church and home of a recording studio, according to Sothebys.
